"The one with preparing, and the 1st nanobiotech..."

Things are getting busier (in my mind, at least!) now that my thoughts are now shifted towards preparations for my PhD studies. So many things left to do! I had an inclination previously to acquire a more streamlined approach to tackle all these but considering the timeline I'm left with, I'm not sure I can afford to. These are things which I need (or think I should) get done by the end of the year;

1. Confirm SLAB with UPM registrar and LTU.
2. Get Visa done.
3. Get air tickets.
4. Confirm, or at least manage accomodation options in Bundoora.
5. Get in touch with Malaysians or any contacts in Melbourne.
6. Review budget for first few months in Melbourne; this includes establishment costs, bills, internet, food, etc.
7. Get a reliable credit card.
8. Conjure out a list of things to bring, copy and get ready.
9. Spend more time with my dearest and family.

At least, this is what I think I should get settled first before anything else. I wonder how I managed my last international outing to Korea back in 2002. Back then it only took me less than a week to get things done. Of course now I'm planning for a years' journey rather than three months. It's a good thing I have Sue to ask around. She's already there in Queensland.

Speaking of which, I think Mok would be the person to go to in times like this. Yes, he might be gay-ishly meticulous, but he does have a knack for detail. God only knows how much he's helped me out of countless hard-spots in the past. Then again he's now in Deutschland; helping himself to generous servings of mojito's. Oh, and before he gets me at my throat - he's straight. And single. He has a pink tie. Goes for shows at Istana Budaya. Adores musicals, and digs Britney songs. But, he's straight people.

I find myself missing this big guy a lot. We consider ourselves more like brothers than colleagues, and have shared a lot between each other more than anyone else. I met him the last in July (I think!) and seeing how things are going - I probably won't be see him for the next few years.
